I recently taught a class about essential oils. For me I love the therapeutic benefits for my kids – boosting their immune systems and quick relief from cuts and bites…that sort of thing. At the end of the class I spoke to several of the attendees, asking about their health and what they thought of the presentation. EVERY SINGLE PERSON asked “what do you suggest for anxiety/stress?”

We are all soooo stressed! Why do we keep doing it to ourselves? Our mental health is suffering in a big way. So I decided to share some ideas for generally just feeling healthier and happier that you may not have heard of:

  1. LOOK TO THE HORIZON
    Get outside and go for a walk somewhere you can find some open space because this remedy isn’t about exercise, though that’s great too. This is about looking out at the horizon. If you can find some space to go for a walk and look out to the horizon, or up at the trees – you need to pick your head up and have the posture of a positive person, it’s hard to stay stressed and down when you have an uplifted posture.
  2. GO WILD WITH ORANGE
    I have been here too and I can tell you I live, breathe and inhale my Wild Orange Essential Oil. All citrus oils are known to lift mood whilst still allowing you to feel calm. Orange in particular has been shown to be great for soothing those anxious vibes (I mean, in real research, not just my living room). Get your orange oil and get your relaxed joy bubbles back!
  3. GUT HEALTH = MENTAL HEALTH
    Gut Health is HUGE with respect to mental health. There is sooo much research now demonstrating the gut-brain connection. The fundamentals of improving gut health are firstly, loads of bone broth. Bone Broth is considered the heal and sealer and does amazing work restoring damaged gut lining. Secondly ferments – sauerkraut is the best probiotic you can buy so get it into you and get that healthy gut flora restored!
  4. TUMERIC
    Tumeric has the most amazing healing properties. Golden Milk/ Tumeric Tea with a drop of ginger oil is a great way to get more tumeric in your diet. I also love a good sprinkle on my omlette in the morning!
  5. EPSOM SALTS
    Now a nice hot bath is always a great way to relax. Add some Epsom salts and it’s just about perrrfect. Epsom salts are actually Magnesium salt. Magnesium is required for muscle relaxation. Add some Lavender oil (research has shown this reduces cortisol also) and maybe some mineral clay for an awesome detox….ahhhh. See, you’re feeling it.

    FINALLY
    I’m not sure I can really stop at 5, so instead I’m going to list a few more ways you might let that stress go and get your bounce back:

  6. Tapping (try Brad Yates on YouTube);
  7. Go green – I’m loving my green juices and the nutrient value is brilliant;
  8. SLOW DOWN! Go outside with bare feet, ground yourself, find time to meditate and ask yourself …why?
